Editorial Policy
This page sets out how we research, verify and correct the content on Payline House.
Research sources
Our starting point for every operator is the Gambling Commission's public register at registers.gamblingcommission.gov.uk, which we check directly rather than relying on an operator's own claim of being licensed. From there we read the operator's own published terms, licensing and responsible gambling pages, and, where relevant, publicly reported regulatory action.
Verification before publication
Before any operator appears on this site, we confirm: that its licence is currently active for the product being described; the legal entity that holds the licence; the domain we are linking to matches the domain registered against that licence; and that the operator is independent of Payline House. If any of these cannot be confirmed, the operator is not published, and if it can no longer be confirmed after publication, it is removed.
How we form our editorial view
Where we describe an operator's product range or licensed activities, that comes directly from the register. Where we offer a judgement — for example, describing a licence as newly granted, or noting a wider or narrower product range than a competitor — that is our own editorial assessment, clearly written as such rather than presented as an official rating. We do not fabricate review counts, star ratings from unnamed sources, or user testimonials.
What we leave out
Where current, verifiable detail on a specific figure (a bonus amount, a wagering requirement, a withdrawal time) is not available to us at the time of writing, we omit it rather than estimate it. We would rather a page say less than say something we cannot stand behind.
